三都半島にある花寿波島はかつて一つの島だったが、海食作用により今では夫婦岩となっている。また同島にある廃屋は、日用品や家具などがそのままになっており、時が止まったように、そこに住んでいた家族の気配が強く感じられる。海が見える廃屋に立ち上がった二つの形は人型のようでもあり、花寿波島のようにも見える。花寿波島が分かれているように見えて根本では繋がっているように、互いに離れていく2人からは親密な関係性が感じられる。

Hanasuwa Island, located on the mito Peninsula, was once a single island, but due to coastal erosion, it has now split into two rocks known as the “Couple Rocks.” Additionally, the abandoned house on the island still contains everyday items and furniture, creating a strong sense that time has stood still and allowing one to vividly sense the presence of the family who once lived there. The two shapes rising from the abandoned house overlooking the sea resemble both human figures and Hanasuwa Island itself. Just as Hanasuwa Island appears divided yet remains connected at its base, a sense of intimacy can be felt between the two people drifting apart.
